Tucked away on Western Australia’s south coast, Denmark is the place Singlefile calls home. In the Scotsdale Valley, a short trip from the town centre along roads lined with karri trees, lies our estate vineyard, which is at the heart of some of our most acclaimed wines. It’s also the location of our Cellar Door, where we welcome guests and invite them to slow down, revel in the beauty of the Great Southern, and explore our wines in a relaxed and genuine setting.
When Singlefile was founded in 2007, our hope was to one day create a space to share our wines with warmth and purpose. The Cellar Door first opened to the public in 2011, and overlooks the vines that produce our Family Reserve Chardonnay, ‘The Vivienne’ Denmark Chardonnay, and soon-to-be-released Family Reserve Pinot Noir. Over time, with thoughtful additions and careful attention, the space has evolved into what it is today—a place for the community and visitors to gather and connect amid the abundance and beauty of our region.
We welcome guests daily for complimentary seated tastings—a gesture of hospitality which sets the scene for the warmth and generosity of spirit for which our staff are known. Take a seat, enjoy the view, and let our team guide you through a curated tasting that showcases the craftsmanship behind each wine. Whether it’s your first visit or you are returning to a familiar favourite, we look forward to sharing the Singlefile experience with you.
Our Cellar Door is just a 10-minute drive from the Denmark Visitor Centre, or about 45 minutes from Albany. The drive is a scenic one, passing through the region’s rolling hills, forest canopies, and glimpses of coastline that make this corner of the world so special.
The moment you arrive, you’ll notice that the pace of life is a little slower here. The property is shared with a resident family of geese that meander in single file between the lake and the vineyard. Guests are welcome to wander the grounds, find a quiet spot by the water, or enjoy a glass of wine on one of the picnic benches scattered across the lawn.
We’re also a dog-friendly destination. If you’re travelling with a furry companion, they’re welcome to join you on the grounds and soak up the fresh country air while you relax and enjoy your visit.
For those seeking a more immersive visit, consider one of our suite of bookable wine experiences—each designed to give you a deeper insight into our wines and the region that shapes them.
One of the best ways to complement your visit to Singlefile is with a relaxed picnic on the grounds. While we don’t operate a restaurant at our Cellar Door, we invite our guests to bring their own lunch and unwind over a glass of wine or a coffee. For a more curated option, we recommend pre-ordering a gourmet picnic selection from The Lake House Denmark. Their hampers are packed with delicious local produce and pair beautifully with a glass of your favourite Singlefile wine—just the thing for a laid-back afternoon on the estate.
If you’re visiting from out of town, Denmark offers a range of thoughtfully designed, locally run stays—each with its own charm.
