2022 Singlefile Single Vineyard Mount Barker Riesling

VINEYARD & WINEMAKING
The Blue Lake vineyard is an established dry grown vineyard. It is situated on the south-west plains of the Mount Barker sub-region. Blue Lake vineyard consistently provides excellent growing conditions.
The 2022 growing season delivered ideal conditions for growing premium riesling in the Great Southern region. There was good rainfall over winter. Spring was reasonably dry and summer held slightly cooler temperatures which allowed for the ideal lemon and lime riesling flavours to develop while, importantly, the fruit retained a beautiful natural acidity which forms the backbone of this wine.
The primary focus of the winemaking process was to preserve the delicate flavours and aromas of the vineyard’s fruit. The fruit was handpicked and whole bunch pressed on 23rd March 2022. The juice was cold settled and fermented at a temperature of 14°C. It was then left to rest until preparation for bottling in June 2022.
THE WINE
The colour is light and the aromatics display a combination of lemon and lime flavours. The palate is characterised by the powerful acidic drive of the wine. A dry riesling, the wine displays intense lime flavours with subtle minerality (which will develop further with age). The wine has a long finish with a lingering acidity.

Product Reviews
This is a dry wine and the acid finish makes it marvellous.
