2020 Singlefile Single Vineyard Frankland River Grenache

VINEYARD & WINEMAKING
Frankland River is arguably the premier red wine growing sub-region of Western Australia. The planting of grenache is sparce but the quality is exceptional. This is from the Riversdale Vineyard which, due to its north facing orientation, delivers some of the best fruit in the sub-region.
After picking and sorting, fermentation took place in small open fermenters, and maceration was gentle lasting 18 days with minimal pump-overs. The wine was then aged in low toast French oak barriques for ten months and aged in bottle prior to release.
THE WINE
This medium bodied grenache asks for your attention by drawing you to its pretty perfumes and red berry (cranberries) aromatics. It maintains your attention with subtle aromas of spices, and earthy and herbal undertones.
The pallet is medium bodied with a subtle grip of tannins, as you expect from grenache, apparent at the outset. But the wine has a nice voluptuous mouth feel, with complex savoury flavours and fine tannins. It has a long finish. It is a wine to be best enjoyed with fine food.
