2025 Singlefile Family Reserve Pinot Noir

The wines in our Family Reserve Collection reflect a deep respect for the Great Southern and its terroir, rooted in the character and calibre of the Singlefile vineyard, over which we assumed custodianship in 2007, marking the beginning of our family winery. A more recent feature of the collection, our Family Reserve Pinot Noir draws on Burgundian clones 777 and D5V12 planted by the family in 2013, with the wine’s first release in 2023. Crafted in a later-picked style to build flavour intensity, this wine offers a more detailed and layered expression than our single vineyard pinot noirs from Mount Barker and Porongurup, with small, complementary parcels of Great Southern fruit quietly contributing additional
nuance.

The 2025 growing season delivered consistent, dry conditions, well suited to premium cool-climate wines. Pinot noir was a stand-out variety in this vintage, with the weather encouraging intense varietal flavour development while also ensuring no disease pressures.

Harvested in mid-March 2025 the fruit was hand-picked and gently de-stemmed, with a small portion whole bunch pressed and added back. The juice was then cold soaked for two days. A parcel was barrel fermented and underwent natural fermentation in new French oak, the remainder went to small open fermenters and then to new and used oak. The wine spent eleven months in French oak barriques, 30% new, before it was prepared for bottling on 18 February 2026.
