2023 Singlefile Single Vineyard Frankland River Shiraz Magnum

Frankland River is arguably the premier shiraz growing subregion of Western Australia and is recognised for its distinctive black fruit and black pepper characters. Shiraz from the Riversdale vineyard, planted in 1997 and one of the few north-facing sites, delivers the quintessential characteristics expected of fine Frankland River shiraz fruit.

The 2024 growing season offered warmer than usual temperatures and an early, dry harvest. The warmer conditions have resulted in a slightly richer styled shiraz, with a good tannin profile, well-developed varietal flavour and intense colour.

After picking and sorting, fermentation took place in closed fermenters, and maceration was gentle lasting thirteen days with minimal pump-over interventions. The wine was then aged in medium toast French oak barriques for eleven months. Post bottling, this wine was aged further to allow to settle, integrate and develop prior to release.
