Singlefile Wines' ‘The Vivienne’ Denmark Chardonnay Wins Prestigious International Award, Best Chardonnay, in 2024 London Wine Competition
Singlefile Wines is delighted to announce the 2021 vintage of 'The Vivienne' Denmark Chardonnay was awarded the 'Best in Show by Varietal' title at the 2024 London Wine Competition, scoring 96 points, the top Gold Medal for chardonnay.
Now in its 7th year, the London Wine Competition is renowned as one of the world's foremost wine competitions, where wines are evaluated by industry professionals for their quality, value, and packaging. This year's competition brought together a panel of 40 judges, including leading sommeliers, master sommeliers, and masters of wine, who convened in London to assess wines from some of the world's best wine-producing regions.
Upon reviewing the scores of all the winning wines, the 2021 ‘The Vivienne’ Denmark Chardonnay emerged as the overall top scoring white wine of the competition. With a score of 96 points, it was also the equally highest-scored table wine, sharing the honour with three reds — a Shiraz and Grenache from Australia and a Pinot Noir from the United States.
Over 500 chardonnay wines participated in the 2024 competition. The judges were impressed by the delicacy and balance of ‘The Vivienne’ Denmark Chardonnay, stating in their tasting notes that it was: “Elegant and complex on nose with brioche, butter notes. Very pleasant wine on palate with vanilla, butter, cream flavours and well- integrated acidity.”
The Vivienne Chardonnay holds a special significance to Singlefile Wines. Named in honour of co-founder Vivienne Snowden, it is one of the family’s flagship wines and this year reaches the milestone of 10 vintages produced.

The 2021 vintage is set to be officially released later this year.
