5 Best BYO Restaurants in Brisbane
Step into the role of sommelier for the night in Brisbane’s vibrant dining scene. Whether you’re planning a special night out or just want to savour great food with a bottle you’ve been saving, these five restaurants are some of Brisbane’s best BYO spots.
Cinco Bistro
This neighbourhood gem has been providing an elevated modern-Australian menu from its Camp Hill location for twenty years. A host of regular diners are attracted by the warm and lively atmosphere and generous, meticulously plated food. Cinco Bistro also offers BYO to its customers from Tuesday - Thursday, and on Friday lunch, for $9.50 corkage per person. With a menu of comforting bistro classics showcasing European influence, bring along a chardonnay or pinot noir to pair - or a cabernet if you will be ordering Cinco’s popular eye fillet steak!

Kent Road Bistro
Run by a husband and wife team, this local bistro in Wooloowin serves elegant French- and Italian-influenced dishes in their relaxed yet polished dining room. With a seasonal a la carte menu which is changed monthly, chef Tim Michels offers an affordable fine-dining experience with two and three course options. Kent Road is BYO only with corkage of $9 per person. Bring along a dry, Provence-style rosé, or a classic red blend to complement the menu.
Spread
Located in Camp Hill, Spread is a casual yet stylish venue perfect for a relaxed dining experience. While they’re known for their wood-fired pizzas, Spread’s seasonal menu - crafted by head chef Shannon Burman - brings an elevated touch to their offerings, with a host of flavourful Mediterranean snacks and starters, as well as a considered pasta selection. Spread offers a BYO option on Wednesday and Thursday nights for $5 corkage per person - select a pinot grigio to accompany starters, and a grenache as the ideal pair with your pizza.

Lefkas Taverna
For authentic Greek cuisine and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Lefkas Taverna in West End is a long-standing favourite. Perfect for group dining or a laid-back dinner, Lefkas serves generous platters of grilled meats, seafood, and mezze that are best enjoyed with a glass of vino. A bottle of vermentino, with its subtle sea spray notes, would be an ideal pairing with their seafood dishes; while a cool-climate shiraz would complement their heartier grilled meats. With a relaxed, lively vibe, Lefkas is the perfect place to share good food, good company, and great wine, with BYO offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays for $8 per bottle.
Golden Pig
Offering some of the finest Asian cuisine in Brisbane, Golden Pig’s relaxed yet considered semi-industrial decor and location in Newstead’s light industrial area belies its fine-dining pedigree, with head chef Katrina Ryan having previously served as head chef at Rockpool. A refined menu of modern pan-Asian dishes is available, with many banquet options making it a great venue for dinner with a group of friends. On Thursdays, bring your own wine for $15 corkage per bottle - a taut and refreshing riesling would be the perfect choice.
For a Special Occasion
Deer Duck Bistro
It is very rare to discover a fine-dining degustation restaurant which offers guests a BYO option. Hidden in Auchenflower, Deer Duck Bistro offers a truly unique tasting experience. Set in an intimate, artfully decorated space, this restaurant takes diners on a culinary journey with its multi-course menus of beautifully presented dishes. We suggest bringing a treasured bottle befitting the elegance of the surroundings and the artistry of the Deer Duck Bistro chefs (BYO is offered from Tuesday - Friday with a corkage charge of $20 per diner, and a maximum of one bottle per two people).
With Brisbane’s thriving food scene, there’s no shortage of excellent options. From top-notch cuisine to cosy comfort foods, raid your cellar and enjoy beautiful pairings, curated for you, by you. Check the venue’s websites for opening hours, menus and booking requirements.
