Singlefile Named Ray Jordan's 'Producer of the Year' for 2024

Singlefile Wines are delighted to announce we have been named Producer of the Year in Ray Jordan's 2024 WA Wine Review.

This annual guide showcases the best in Western Australian wine and we are humbled to be recognised amongst the many exceptional producers in the state.

Ray Jordan, a seasoned columnist with over 30 years experience covering the Australian wine industry, acknowledged Singlefile's growth from its modest start-up days, to being one of the state’s finest producers.

“From the time the Snowden and Corbett families bought an existing vineyard in 2007, they have pursued their quest for excellence with a single-minded and very clear approach,” said Ray.

“In the past 12 months the wines have taken yet another leap forward, building on a succession of excellent vintages and the creation of new and interesting variety and stylistic expressions from fruit sourced from their own and other Great Southern locations.”

Ray Jordan drew particular attention to these wines in his Wine Review:

2022 Singlefile Family Reserve Chardonnay

96 points
I expected this to be a mighty good chardonnay from this season, and true to form it has not disappointed. Engaging aromas of lemon zest and grapefruit with a subtle roasted cashew addition. It’s delicate but there is power, a hallmark of the best chardonnays. One of the best under this label.

2019 Singlefile 'The Philip Adrian' Cabernet Sauvignon

97 points
Deep, dark berry nuances throughout then a slightly leafy blackcurrant and ironstone rust emerges. The tannins are firm and fine and the oak well managed. A wine of great cabernet structural integrity with so much cellaring time. Leave it a few years before trying it, because like all the 2019s I have tasted they benefit with a little extra time in the bottle.

2021 Singlefile Single Vineyard Frankland River Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points
The single vineyard is the Riversdale in Frankland. It is one of the best around. This is a most impressive cabernet, chock full of deep dark fruits with a leafy cabernet varietal overlay. The palate reveals a chalky ferruginous mix with the firm support of fine-grained oak and gravelly tannins taking it to a very long finish. Dry chalky finish completes an excellent wine.
